What is it?
Saturday, May 28, return to the OG home of the Axe Throwing Marathon! We’re hosting a 24 person marathon with $1,000 prize pool! Here’s the best part: entry is only available through a $5 drawing and is otherwise free! Doors open at 9:30am. Practice at 10am. Matches start around 10:30.
Entry
Each person is allowed to purchase up to TWO tickets for $5 each. Anyone who attempts to purchase a additional tickets will have all entries voided without a refund. The entry must contain the name on your legal ID as well. One catch: a deposit of $75 per thrower is due within a week of the drawing. Anyone who is not chosen for the marathon will receive a $5 gift certificate for Total Axe.
Registrants can earn an additional entry to the drawing by sharing this blog post publicly on Facebook (if we can’t see it, it doesn’t exist). Add the link from your personal post to your entry form when you register for the event. Seriously, make sure it’s public. Several people have already posted links we can’t see.
Deposits/Refunds
A deposit of $75 per thrower is required. This is to ensure that 24 throwers actually show up for marathon. The deposit will be refunded upon arrival on May 28, or if you withdraw and we are able to fill your space. If you withdraw without notice, or we are unable to fill your vacancy by May 27th, you will forfeit the deposit. If the border does not reopen to everyone by May 1, we will refund all of our Canadian entries in full. Seats cannot be sold or transferred.
Drawing
The drawing will be held live on Facebook on Monday, February 7. 24 names will be chosen for the marathon, then the rest will be selected for the waiting list. The original 24 names will have 7 days to pay the deposit. Waitlist entries will have 24 hours to pay once they have been notified.
